Even the QUEEN can have a BAD HAIR DAY!!! Folk Art Painting.

Image
I wanted to show off my 3 new original paintings. I know I'm not really an artist...even though my little sister, or as we call her "red on the head" Becca says that I am. But I have so much fun paintings my whimsical creations.  This one was inspired the other day while I was in the bed watching TV. Leg propped up on pillows, due to sciatic pain...and flipped through to the History Channel. And there was the Queen! OF ENGLAND!!! They were showing lots of pics of her over the years, and my lord...all those HATS! And I was thinking, does she EVER have a bad hair day??? Dance towards the Life you really Want! (And this is what I look like dancing, since my left leg is full of metal). But, this idea came from a picture that was taken at one of our family reunions, and all of us "women folk" were doing a Congo line!!! And this was inspired by one of my favorite books and Broadway play...which I saw...WICKED! Great take on "the true story of the Wic

70th Post and the Truth about my Blog!

First, I can't believe this is my 70th post on my blog. So excited! When I created this blog several months ago, I wasn't sure where I was going with it. I feel I have to be honest with everyone, because everyone has been so kind to be with advice, caring, and just being there for me. You see folks, when I started the blog, I wanted to make money. I'm a 56 year female who two years ago due to Life had become disabled. After several accidents, I was to injured to work full time anymore. Can't stand for long....can't sit for long....sometimes I have to lay down for hours at a time. Life had dealt me a blow, and I felt sorry for myself. Lost alot, (material pocessions...house etc.) and had to get adjusted to living off of a social security check! At 56!!! I was devasted. But then....something funny happened and I realized that I could still be a great participant in "this thing we call Life"!!! So, I pulled myself up by my bootstraps...and taught myself how

Father's Day with my Daddy

Image
Spent all day yesterday with my parents. It always makes my Heart leap into my chest , every time I'm able to see them both. But, I was a Daddy's Girl from the beginning. I was the first child, and Daddy did everything with me. He taught me how to fish, hunt, play in river and just have fun. He also would have Mom dress me up and take me out to eat...just me and him. He was an attorney for over 50 years, and when I was younger there was a place here in my hometown of Waycross, Ga. called The Waycross Newsstand. I guess you could say it was an early version of a coffee shop. The men...cause back then the women stayed home....would gather before work and read the newspaper and drink coffee and discuss the problems for the day. I would feel so special when on days that Daddy didn't have to be in court to early, that he would take me with him!!! Feeling SPECIAL!!!! I always did. Now my father is 83 years old....and suffering from a very rare brain disorder called Pic's Dise

Back from trip....painting for my daughter

Image
Hi everyone....back from a wonderful visit in St. Augustine Fl. visiting my oldest daughter, Anna Brooke. If you've never been to our "nations oldest city" you need to plan a trip and go. The history is amazing....beach is beautiful, the bay front is a great place to sit early morning, drink a cup of Java and watch the sun come up. You need to go!! Ok, as I had stated in a previous post, Anna Brooke is pregnant and expecting in December. This will be my second grandchild, and I'm ecstatic! And Anna Brooke's birthday was May 24th while I was down there, and I had wanted to do something special for her, so I painted this painting and put lots of love in it. I hope ya'll enjoy it, and will be posting more pics later today. Blessings, Deborah And after painting it, I added the words" She is Full of Life and Love". You will that in the other pics I will be posting soon.
