No Sew DIY Fleece Scarf and Hat! Just in Time for Winter!


Guess What Ya'll? It is getting cold down here in South Georgia...Yep, we have even been having heavy frost of the car windows! That means it is time to pull out all my favorite winter coats, my Uggs, and....that is where I always remember that I didn't buy a new hat and scarf!

 So, this year I decided to make my own! I went to several dollar stores, such as, Dollar General and Family Dollar, and our local Big Lots! All of these stores had great prices on cute, inexpensive fleece blankets.....so many designs...that I bought several ! I had searched all over "blog land to You Tube" and found a couple DIY No Sew ways to do this.....

 Basically after cutting the tag off....I unfolded the blanket....length wise....realized that I could get about 3 scarves and had enough material to make 3 hats...
The is folded in half, cut length wise

Cut 5 inch strips in bottom and you have  scarf

This is square that I measured for my head and used fabric glue down the seam

Cut inch strips in one end..where I used  a piece of same material..


where I tied around the end...and I have a cute fleece hat!





Just in time for Christmas,

Good Sunday Evening Everyone, Well, if you have ever visited my Pinterest boards, you know that I love Bohemian ANYTHING! The colors.....the clothes.....the furniture.....I'm an "ole hippie", what do you expect! You will need the large zip ties, your jewelry making tools, strips of cloth, jewelry wire and scotch tape. Yes, scotch tape! I took a zip tie and made a circle to measure the size of my wrist, but then just added a "smidgen"and then cut off the end of the zip tie and taped the circle together. Everyone Loves Watermelon....Right?

Good Monday Evening Everyone, Wow, can you believe that it is already the 6th of May??? I can't.....it seems like it was just yesterday that I  moved into my new home in February! But, I'm not complaining...especially after all the rain we got last week, the Sun was out today....there was a nice breeze blowing....and I had breakfast with my 2 daughters this morning, and my 4 1/2 month old grandson! It was wonderful, and I knew Summer is on it's way! When I was growing up, one of my favorite times of the Summer was when you could see all the watermelons for sale, and my Daddy loved him some watermelon! He would go to the local little farmer's stand where all his buddies whom were farmers were selling fresh local produce. He would load up the car with watermelons and come home. We would ice them down in a cooler that morning and then he would make us go outside to play! So, the water hoses were brought out and slung over a tree branch.....water sprinklers were set

The Lady with Blue Eyes...New Folk Art Painting

Good Friday Evening Everyone, Wow, it has been an absolutely beautiful day down here in rural South Georgia in my hometown of Waycross. The Sun has been shinning most of the day.....a soft, gentle breeze has been whispering through the pines.....just an all around great day..... and what better time for me to premiere my newest, and I think my best, folk art painting. I had this idea in my head for along time....I wanted her to be a little whimsy.....slightly "hippieish".... magical....secretive.....and special. I used both acrylic and oil painting....I had an old frame in my craft closet....and decided to glue the frame to the mat.
