Heart Pendants!


Greetings Everyone,

 Well, I have been "up to my, well, you know what" in polymer clay! I have been working very hard learning how to best, for me, to work with this medium.  I've order and purchased a new supply of clay....read everything I can find on the net and looked at every pic of polymer clay jewelry trying to learn from others.

 Let me tell you right now, there are a lot of talented folks out there working with clay....so, much more talented than me. But, I'm having fun....and I think for "my neck of the woods" since there is no one else out there that is doing anything like this, that I might have some good luck at the next big craft show coming up in March. I plan on the first of February ordering some great multi-colored turquoise nuggets and making necklaces for the pendants. I'm so excited! I love all the bright, bold and beautiful colors of turquoise out there.

 So, with that said, Valentines is coming up, and what better way of showing your Love is wearing one of these fun and funky pendants:

Are these not fun? Each one has a leather piece at the top where they can be attached to any neat necklace you might own. I can't wait to get those turquoise nuggets in and make some really funky pieces to wear these on!

Good Sunday Evening Everyone, Well, if you have ever visited my Pinterest boards, you know that I love Bohemian ANYTHING! The colors.....the clothes.....the furniture.....I'm an "ole hippie", what do you expect! I have seen so many things online, from clothes to jewelry, that have touched my bohemian soul, but, of course, for the most part, I can not afford to buy what I like. So, I resort to learning how to make it instead, and recently, I had seen these zip tie bracelets and just didn't think they would turn out like the pictures, but they did! Easy Peazy! You will need the large zip ties, your jewelry making tools, strips of cloth, jewelry wire and scotch tape. Yes, scotch tape! I took a zip tie and made a circle to measure the size of my wrist, but then just added a "smidgen"and then cut off the end of the zip tie and taped the circle together. Everyone Loves Watermelon....Right?

Good Monday Evening Everyone, Wow, can you believe that it is already the 6th of May??? I can't.....it seems like it was just yesterday that I  moved into my new home in February! But, I'm not complaining...especially after all the rain we got last week, the Sun was out today....there was a nice breeze blowing....and I had breakfast with my 2 daughters this morning, and my 4 1/2 month old grandson! It was wonderful, and I knew Summer is on it's way! When I was growing up, one of my favorite times of the Summer was when you could see all the watermelons for sale, and my Daddy loved him some watermelon! He would go to the local little farmer's stand where all his buddies whom were farmers were selling fresh local produce. He would load up the car with watermelons and come home. We would ice them down in a cooler that morning and then he would make us go outside to play! So, the water hoses were brought out and slung over a tree branch.....water sprinklers were set

The Lady with Blue Eyes...New Folk Art Painting

Good Friday Evening Everyone, Wow, it has been an absolutely beautiful day down here in rural South Georgia in my hometown of Waycross. The Sun has been shinning most of the day.....a soft, gentle breeze has been whispering through the pines.....just an all around great day..... and what better time for me to premiere my newest, and I think my best, folk art painting. I had this idea in my head for along time....I wanted her to be a little whimsy.....slightly "hippieish".... magical....secretive.....and special. I used both acrylic and oil painting....I had an old frame in my craft closet....and decided to glue the frame to the mat.
