No Resolutions...Just Creativity!

I do not make resolutions.....oh, I have tried, many many times! I found, that when I set those "resolutions", that I set myself up to fail. Why? I don't know. But, I do feel that I want to set "goals" for myself in my creative side. First, I do make my crafts and paintings to sell....but, this has become my "therapy"....my way, where I can put myself into something whole-hardheartedly and a piece of me is left in the project.

So, this year, my goal is to try and create something everyday. Not, necessarily making something, it can be writing....cleaning....something that makes me feel good. We are 4 days into this new year and I have written two days worth in my writing journal....and made two pieces of jewelry which I would like to share with you. The first is a necklace made from a pale rose quartz pendant I purchased at Micheal's. I didn't make the pendant, but did make the chain. The second is a pair of earrings using lavender agate squares and crystals:







 As, I do my daily creations of paintings and crafts, I will share them with you.

      Laura, I totally understand. I also love to write and have written a book...just waiting for the final edit....hopefully, this will also be the year to get my little book published!

    Good for you, making something in some way each day. I was pretty much out of mood since we had to make things for craft show on 12/13 and then finish up for holiday gifts. I was so tired my creativity took a little vacation. Sometimes I really need to do that, do you ever? Had such a mess all over from making things I couldn't stand it anymore. We have small house so no room for clutter and boy was there lots of that, all over. Now I need to clean up sewing room and things in front hall. Feel like doing some sewing but can hardly walk into what is already a very small room.Most people have closets bigger than my sewing room. Craft room not much bigger. Hope you had wonderful holidays, Happy New Year.

Good Sunday Evening Everyone, Well, if you have ever visited my Pinterest boards, you know that I love Bohemian ANYTHING! The colors.....the clothes.....the furniture.....I'm an "ole hippie", what do you expect! I have seen so many things online, from clothes to jewelry, that have touched my bohemian soul, but, of course, for the most part, I can not afford to buy what I like. So, I resort to learning how to make it instead, and recently, I had seen these zip tie bracelets and just didn't think they would turn out like the pictures, but they did! Easy Peazy! You will need the large zip ties, your jewelry making tools, strips of cloth, jewelry wire and scotch tape. Yes, scotch tape! I took a zip tie and made a circle to measure the size of my wrist, but then just added a "smidgen"and then cut off the end of the zip tie and taped the circle together. Everyone Loves Watermelon....Right?

Good Monday Evening Everyone, Wow, can you believe that it is already the 6th of May??? I can't.....it seems like it was just yesterday that I  moved into my new home in February! But, I'm not complaining...especially after all the rain we got last week, the Sun was out today....there was a nice breeze blowing....and I had breakfast with my 2 daughters this morning, and my 4 1/2 month old grandson! It was wonderful, and I knew Summer is on it's way! When I was growing up, one of my favorite times of the Summer was when you could see all the watermelons for sale, and my Daddy loved him some watermelon! He would go to the local little farmer's stand where all his buddies whom were farmers were selling fresh local produce. He would load up the car with watermelons and come home. We would ice them down in a cooler that morning and then he would make us go outside to play! So, the water hoses were brought out and slung over a tree branch.....water sprinklers were set

The Lady with Blue Eyes...New Folk Art Painting

Good Friday Evening Everyone, Wow, it has been an absolutely beautiful day down here in rural South Georgia in my hometown of Waycross. The Sun has been shinning most of the day.....a soft, gentle breeze has been whispering through the pines.....just an all around great day..... and what better time for me to premiere my newest, and I think my best, folk art painting. I had this idea in my head for along time....I wanted her to be a little whimsy.....slightly "hippieish".... magical....secretive.....and special. I used both acrylic and oil painting....I had an old frame in my craft closet....and decided to glue the frame to the mat.
