Bird's Nest Pendants

Good Sunday Evening....

 Finally, I'm back doing my crafts and painting! Do you ever just have to take a break? Do you ever just need space to be "just you"? Well, that is where I have been, besides being very sick for awhile.....having problems with my Fibromylagia......getting settled in my new place......helping my daughter move into her new home.....and spending much needed time with my grandchildren!!!

 So, I have been wanting to make some Bird's Nest Pendants. I knew it would be hard for me with the Fibro, because when the numbness and tingling hits in my arms, it can be intense. But, I knew I could do it. So, for the last couple days, I have made several and have started on a series of tropical signs for the upcoming summer.

 Let me share a few pics of the few I've made so far. I did all the twisting of the wire and made the necklace chains to go with them. I'm kinda proud of myself. The pics are not the best, but, they will do for now:





 The pink pearls didn't photograph that well, but I like the way it turned out. I hope to post more pics soon.

    Debra, those are adorable. I love the ones with the pink pearls. I have twisted that wire to make nests before and I know how much work it is. Sorry that you have to deal with Fibro. Makes everything that much more difficult. You triumphed with this one. Such cute necklaces. Yes, there are times when I have to just unplug. I lose my creativity and inspiration and just get burned out. Those grandchildren sure re charge you though,such treasures. (after you take that nap ;-)) Stoppin by from Trans. Thurs. Good Sunday Evening Everyone, Well, if you have ever visited my Pinterest boards, you know that I love Bohemian ANYTHING! The colors.....the clothes.....the furniture.....I'm an "ole hippie", what do you expect! I have seen so many things online, from clothes to jewelry, that have touched my bohemian soul, but, of course, for the most part, I can not afford to buy what I like. So, I resort to learning how to make it instead, and recently, I had seen these zip tie bracelets and just didn't think they would turn out like the pictures, but they did! Easy Peazy! You will need the large zip ties, your jewelry making tools, strips of cloth, jewelry wire and scotch tape. Yes, scotch tape! I took a zip tie and made a circle to measure the size of my wrist, but then just added a "smidgen"and then cut off the end of the zip tie and taped the circle together. Everyone Loves Watermelon....Right?

Good Monday Evening Everyone, Wow, can you believe that it is already the 6th of May??? I can't.....it seems like it was just yesterday that I  moved into my new home in February! But, I'm not complaining...especially after all the rain we got last week, the Sun was out today....there was a nice breeze blowing....and I had breakfast with my 2 daughters this morning, and my 4 1/2 month old grandson! It was wonderful, and I knew Summer is on it's way! When I was growing up, one of my favorite times of the Summer was when you could see all the watermelons for sale, and my Daddy loved him some watermelon! He would go to the local little farmer's stand where all his buddies whom were farmers were selling fresh local produce. He would load up the car with watermelons and come home. We would ice them down in a cooler that morning and then he would make us go outside to play! So, the water hoses were brought out and slung over a tree branch.....water sprinklers were set

The Lady with Blue Eyes...New Folk Art Painting

Good Friday Evening Everyone, Wow, it has been an absolutely beautiful day down here in rural South Georgia in my hometown of Waycross. The Sun has been shinning most of the day.....a soft, gentle breeze has been whispering through the pines.....just an all around great day..... and what better time for me to premiere my newest, and I think my best, folk art painting. I had this idea in my head for along time....I wanted her to be a little whimsy.....slightly "hippieish".... magical....secretive.....and special. I used both acrylic and oil painting....I had an old frame in my craft closet....and decided to glue the frame to the mat.
