Are Ya "Ready for Sum Football"!! In Honor of KATY B!!

Happy Friday Everyone,

 Yes, I'm a Woman who Loves College Football!!! When I was growing up, it was my Mom, Katy, who started me on the path of loving football. My Daddy, Dick, was a lawyer, and when Friday's rolled around, he left the house and went to his "river house"...where he could hunt, fish, and relax. Little did he know that back at home....we were "throwing down".....eating red-velvet cake...who my Mom made for "puppy love boyfriend" who would come to the house every Saturday and watch football with us!

 I grew up watching the greats of college football....Mike Singletary, John Hannah, Roger Staubach,  Johnny Muso, and of course....Herschel Walker from GEORGIA!!! Give the BALL TO HERSCHEL!!! I still yell that at the tv when my DAWGS are playing!!

 So, every year when Football Season starts I deck out....signs, shirts, jewelry, and of course, my UGA by the door.....so, I wanted to deck out my blog in Bulldog colors and share my love of football with ya....

So, in Honor of My Georgia Bulldogs and my Love of football, my blog is all decked out in Red and Black......and a HUGE Thank You to my Mom, Katy, for all the good times and all those red-velvet cakes!

 So, all I have to say, is....GO DAWGS!!!!

    Georgia BD Fans are hardcore!! So are Buckeye fans (where I'm originally from), but I moved and go w/my Alma Mater. ;)

    I live in GA, and Georgia Bulldog stuff is EVERYWHERE!!!! :-) Although my daughter is a Georgia peach, I didn't buy her any GA Bulldogs onesies or anything like that.

Good Sunday Evening Everyone, Well, if you have ever visited my Pinterest boards, you know that I love Bohemian ANYTHING! The colors.....the clothes.....the furniture.....I'm an "ole hippie", what do you expect! I have seen so many things online, from clothes to jewelry, that have touched my bohemian soul, but, of course, for the most part, I can not afford to buy what I like. So, I resort to learning how to make it instead, and recently, I had seen these zip tie bracelets and just didn't think they would turn out like the pictures, but they did! Easy Peazy! You will need the large zip ties, your jewelry making tools, strips of cloth, jewelry wire and scotch tape. Yes, scotch tape! I took a zip tie and made a circle to measure the size of my wrist, but then just added a "smidgen"and then cut off the end of the zip tie and taped the circle together. I then took about a 24 inch strip of fabric and made a knot with one end around the zip tie circle and star...

Everyone Loves Watermelon....Right?

Good Monday Evening Everyone, Wow, can you believe that it is already the 6th of May??? I can't.....it seems like it was just yesterday that I  moved into my new home in February! But, I'm not complaining...especially after all the rain we got last week, the Sun was out today....there was a nice breeze blowing....and I had breakfast with my 2 daughters this morning, and my 4 1/2 month old grandson! It was wonderful, and I knew Summer is on it's way! When I was growing up, one of my favorite times of the Summer was when you could see all the watermelons for sale, and my Daddy loved him some watermelon! He would go to the local little farmer's stand where all his buddies whom were farmers were selling fresh local produce. He would load up the car with watermelons and come home. We would ice them down in a cooler that morning and then he would make us go outside to play! So, the water hoses were brought out and slung over a tree branch.....water sprinklers were set  ...

The Lady with Blue Eyes...New Folk Art Painting

Good Friday Evening Everyone, Wow, it has been an absolutely beautiful day down here in rural South Georgia in my hometown of Waycross. The Sun has been shinning most of the day.....a soft, gentle breeze has been whispering through the pines.....just an all around great day..... and what better time for me to premiere my newest, and I think my best, folk art painting. I had this idea in my head for along time....I wanted her to be a little whimsy.....slightly "hippieish".... magical....secretive.....and special. I used both acrylic and oil painting....I had an old frame in my craft closet....and decided to glue the frame to the mat.
