Frankenstein Mason Jar Lumminary!


Happy Thursday Everyone,

The cool air and nice breezes have finally come to southern Georgia! Makes me think of cook-outs with the family, enjoying a good cup of java on the porch, and my favorite time of the year....Halloween! Our family goes all out on decorations and we have so much fun. But, the last week I have been battling an early head cold! I usually don't get these until further in the season, but, alas, it is here. So, I have been inside, taking meds, and going crazy because, other than just opening my front door, I haven't been able to enjoy this awesome weather.

To keep from going crazy, I have been working on easy crafts to keep me occupied. I have tons of jars....Mason and all other types. I have been wanting to make a Frankenstein jar, and finally did it:





 I had this old jar that I had tried to color with Mod Podge and food color years ago, but didn't like the way it turned out, so, I had put it up for a later day. Since, I was sick, and realized I had no Mod Podge or glue, I used a small amount of green and white paint, watered down, and lightly painted the inside. I painted the lid black.....painted a face, and let dry over night. 

Placing a small battery powered tea light inside, and, wow, cute, isn't it!

    so scary!! love the frankenstein mason jar lumminary! I have a couple jars I did the modge podge on that I am not excited about, maybe I can transform them too!!

Good Sunday Evening Everyone, Well, if you have ever visited my Pinterest boards, you know that I love Bohemian ANYTHING! The colors.....the clothes.....the furniture.....I'm an "ole hippie", what do you expect! You will need the large zip ties, your jewelry making tools, strips of cloth, jewelry wire and scotch tape. Yes, scotch tape! I took a zip tie and made a circle to measure the size of my wrist, but then just added a "smidgen"and then cut off the end of the zip tie and taped the circle together. Everyone Loves Watermelon....Right?

Good Monday Evening Everyone, Wow, can you believe that it is already the 6th of May??? I can't.....it seems like it was just yesterday that I  moved into my new home in February! But, I'm not complaining...especially after all the rain we got last week, the Sun was out today....there was a nice breeze blowing....and I had breakfast with my 2 daughters this morning, and my 4 1/2 month old grandson! It was wonderful, and I knew Summer is on it's way! When I was growing up, one of my favorite times of the Summer was when you could see all the watermelons for sale, and my Daddy loved him some watermelon! He would go to the local little farmer's stand where all his buddies whom were farmers were selling fresh local produce. He would load up the car with watermelons and come home. We would ice them down in a cooler that morning and then he would make us go outside to play! So, the water hoses were brought out and slung over a tree branch.....water sprinklers were set

The Lady with Blue Eyes...New Folk Art Painting

Good Friday Evening Everyone, Wow, it has been an absolutely beautiful day down here in rural South Georgia in my hometown of Waycross. The Sun has been shinning most of the day.....a soft, gentle breeze has been whispering through the pines.....just an all around great day..... and what better time for me to premiere my newest, and I think my best, folk art painting. I had this idea in my head for along time....I wanted her to be a little whimsy.....slightly "hippieish".... magical....secretive.....and special. I used both acrylic and oil painting....I had an old frame in my craft closet....and decided to glue the frame to the mat.
