The Love of Being a Grandmother!

Happy Hump Day everyone.
I hope everyone had a great Christmas Day....I know I did. Yes, still no crafting and or painting or making jewelry....still in Jacksonville Florida enjoying my new grandson, Alan...or Bean, as I call him.

I was watching my daughter today as she still continues to recuperate from her c section and adjust to being a Mother. I so remember the day I brought her home from the hospital almost 34 years ago...wow, how time flies! She is going to be an awesome mom....and her husband is doing great!  And, me, well, I'm in love again!. I sat this morning feeding, burping, and holding Alan, and my heart just melts every time. I swat there looking at him thinking that my blood, my fathers blood, my ancestors blood flows in his veins....and we are such a proud family. The love  I have for this little boy whose mother is my oldest and first child...well, it is amazing.

So, there will be no crafts or other things like that until after the first...but, oh boy, how much fun I'm having!

    Deborah, I'm so happy to hear that your daughter and grandson are okay and doing well!! I was praying for both of them. What a perfect Christmas blessing he is!!

Good Sunday Evening Everyone, Well, if you have ever visited my Pinterest boards, you know that I love Bohemian ANYTHING! The colors.....the clothes.....the furniture.....I'm an "ole hippie", what do you expect! I have seen so many things online, from clothes to jewelry, that have touched my bohemian soul, but, of course, for the most part, I can not afford to buy what I like. So, I resort to learning how to make it instead, and recently, I had seen these zip tie bracelets and just didn't think they would turn out like the pictures, but they did! Easy Peazy! You will need the large zip ties, your jewelry making tools, strips of cloth, jewelry wire and scotch tape. Yes, scotch tape! I took a zip tie and made a circle to measure the size of my wrist, but then just added a "smidgen"and then cut off the end of the zip tie and taped the circle together. Everyone Loves Watermelon....Right?

Good Monday Evening Everyone, Wow, can you believe that it is already the 6th of May??? I can't.....it seems like it was just yesterday that I  moved into my new home in February! But, I'm not complaining...especially after all the rain we got last week, the Sun was out today....there was a nice breeze blowing....and I had breakfast with my 2 daughters this morning, and my 4 1/2 month old grandson! It was wonderful, and I knew Summer is on it's way! When I was growing up, one of my favorite times of the Summer was when you could see all the watermelons for sale, and my Daddy loved him some watermelon! He would go to the local little farmer's stand where all his buddies whom were farmers were selling fresh local produce. He would load up the car with watermelons and come home. We would ice them down in a cooler that morning and then he would make us go outside to play! So, the water hoses were brought out and slung over a tree branch.....water sprinklers were set

The Lady with Blue Eyes...New Folk Art Painting

Good Friday Evening Everyone, Wow, it has been an absolutely beautiful day down here in rural South Georgia in my hometown of Waycross. The Sun has been shinning most of the day.....a soft, gentle breeze has been whispering through the pines.....just an all around great day..... and what better time for me to premiere my newest, and I think my best, folk art painting. I had this idea in my head for along time....I wanted her to be a little whimsy.....slightly "hippieish".... magical....secretive.....and special. I used both acrylic and oil painting....I had an old frame in my craft closet....and decided to glue the frame to the mat.
