INTRODUCING: My Sacred Spirit Dolls

Good Tuesday Morning Everyone,

 Wow, I'm so very excited to tell you about my newest creations....I've wanted for along time now to try my hand in making dolls. I knew I couldn't do the molding of clay, or porcelain....not that talented. So, I had searched everywhere for ideas....collecting bits and pieces from everywhere....and coming up with my "own design".

 So, I had decided on ordering plain muslin dolls and had researched for the best wholesale prices I could find. WELL, as if Fate wanted to intervene for me, something told me to go to our local Salvation Army store yesterday. And, and, and, there in the back of the store was this HUGE trash bags full of plain, muslin, stuffed dolls and animals. YES....I couldn't believe, and then, when I asked the price and the lady said..... .25cents a piece.....well, I was doing my "happy dance". So, I bought 5 of the dolls and ran home as fast as I could!

 I had had this idea in my head for so long of making these cute, eclectic, bohemian, type of dolls that I could fashion into Life....well, I spent all day and night bringing the first one....yes, mine personally to Life! And, I love her! There are things I want to add......things I want to do better on....but, I think they will be fun making. 

 My sister, Rebecca, who is an Artist in her own Right.....and photographer.....took these professional shots of her this morning. I can't wait to see what ya'll think of her.....

Good Sunday Evening Everyone, Well, if you have ever visited my Pinterest boards, you know that I love Bohemian ANYTHING! The colors.....the clothes.....the furniture.....I'm an "ole hippie", what do you expect! I have seen so many things online, from clothes to jewelry, that have touched my bohemian soul, but, of course, for the most part, I can not afford to buy what I like. So, I resort to learning how to make it instead, and recently, I had seen these zip tie bracelets and just didn't think they would turn out like the pictures, but they did! Easy Peazy! You will need the large zip ties, your jewelry making tools, strips of cloth, jewelry wire and scotch tape. Yes, scotch tape! I took a zip tie and made a circle to measure the size of my wrist, but then just added a "smidgen"and then cut off the end of the zip tie and taped the circle together. Everyone Loves Watermelon....Right?

Good Monday Evening Everyone, Wow, can you believe that it is already the 6th of May??? I can't.....it seems like it was just yesterday that I  moved into my new home in February! But, I'm not complaining...especially after all the rain we got last week, the Sun was out today....there was a nice breeze blowing....and I had breakfast with my 2 daughters this morning, and my 4 1/2 month old grandson! It was wonderful, and I knew Summer is on it's way! When I was growing up, one of my favorite times of the Summer was when you could see all the watermelons for sale, and my Daddy loved him some watermelon! He would go to the local little farmer's stand where all his buddies whom were farmers were selling fresh local produce. He would load up the car with watermelons and come home. We would ice them down in a cooler that morning and then he would make us go outside to play! So, the water hoses were brought out and slung over a tree branch.....water sprinklers were set

The Lady with Blue Eyes...New Folk Art Painting

Good Friday Evening Everyone, Wow, it has been an absolutely beautiful day down here in rural South Georgia in my hometown of Waycross. The Sun has been shinning most of the day.....a soft, gentle breeze has been whispering through the pines.....just an all around great day..... and what better time for me to premiere my newest, and I think my best, folk art painting. I had this idea in my head for along time....I wanted her to be a little whimsy.....slightly "hippieish".... magical....secretive.....and special. I used both acrylic and oil painting....I had an old frame in my craft closet....and decided to glue the frame to the mat.
