Junkin Queen and Gypsy Soul!

Good Saturday Evening Everyone,

 Wow, what a week it has been here in South Georgia! We started the week off with freezing temps and weather bulletins every hour on the hour.....we never got the snow as North Georgia and the Atlanta area did, but, we did get a lot of "black ice" on the roads...sleet.....and freezing winds! Then yesterday it was sunny and bright and I had my flip flops on and sat on the front porch with a couple neighbors...just wonderful! Then, today has been gloomy and rainy with a slight coolness in the air....I swear ya'll, feel like I've been riding a yo-yo!

 With that said, all this "inside weather" has given me the chance to work on my new passion....making jewelry with polymer clay. I just love what I'm coming up with....it has been a learning process as I've stated before, but, on several levels it has been good. I have horrible Fibromyalgia and lately it has started effecting my hands...so, surprisingly, while I knead and roll the clay, it has been soothing my hands!

 So, with my new Olympus Digital camera that my brother in law, Lee, gave me, I took some new pics this afternoon. My plans all along with making these bright and colorful pendants have been to get some colorful, chunky, new beads to add the pendants to. But, I will not have the new beads til sometime next week, so, I took a beautiful turquoise necklace I had made last year, and tied them on so you can see how easily they can be worn on different necklaces. 










I love the bright, bold, colors and can't wait to have the chunky turquoise beads to string for necklaces...I just think these will look awesome! So, I hope you like some of the new designs and I have more to come.

    Hey! You're right about the weather here in Southern Georgia. Last week, it was cold, and this week the temps are in the 70s again. WEIRD! Anyhoo, I really like your truck pendants! Thanks for sharing @ Submarine Sunday!

Good Sunday Evening Everyone, Well, if you have ever visited my Pinterest boards, you know that I love Bohemian ANYTHING! The colors.....the clothes.....the furniture.....I'm an "ole hippie", what do you expect! I have seen so many things online, from clothes to jewelry, that have touched my bohemian soul, but, of course, for the most part, I can not afford to buy what I like. So, I resort to learning how to make it instead, and recently, I had seen these zip tie bracelets and just didn't think they would turn out like the pictures, but they did! Easy Peazy! You will need the large zip ties, your jewelry making tools, strips of cloth, jewelry wire and scotch tape. Yes, scotch tape! I took a zip tie and made a circle to measure the size of my wrist, but then just added a "smidgen"and then cut off the end of the zip tie and taped the circle together. Everyone Loves Watermelon....Right?

Good Monday Evening Everyone, Wow, can you believe that it is already the 6th of May??? I can't.....it seems like it was just yesterday that I  moved into my new home in February! But, I'm not complaining...especially after all the rain we got last week, the Sun was out today....there was a nice breeze blowing....and I had breakfast with my 2 daughters this morning, and my 4 1/2 month old grandson! It was wonderful, and I knew Summer is on it's way! When I was growing up, one of my favorite times of the Summer was when you could see all the watermelons for sale, and my Daddy loved him some watermelon! He would go to the local little farmer's stand where all his buddies whom were farmers were selling fresh local produce. He would load up the car with watermelons and come home. We would ice them down in a cooler that morning and then he would make us go outside to play! So, the water hoses were brought out and slung over a tree branch.....water sprinklers were set

The Lady with Blue Eyes...New Folk Art Painting

Good Friday Evening Everyone, Wow, it has been an absolutely beautiful day down here in rural South Georgia in my hometown of Waycross. The Sun has been shinning most of the day.....a soft, gentle breeze has been whispering through the pines.....just an all around great day..... and what better time for me to premiere my newest, and I think my best, folk art painting. I had this idea in my head for along time....I wanted her to be a little whimsy.....slightly "hippieish".... magical....secretive.....and special. I used both acrylic and oil painting....I had an old frame in my craft closet....and decided to glue the frame to the mat.
